Bankbridge Regional Middle School News
The Middle School planned many social events for the months of November and December.
In November, our pretzel sale, ran by Mr. Lamb, was a big success. Our dessert social on November 24th, ran by Sandy Field’s, was a fun time because the parents/guardians attended the festivities. The social included activities showing thanks for our family and friends. There were pies and cider for everyone to enjoy. The social was sponsored by the GCSSSDEA. For the month of December, we had another pretzel sale on December 4th. The South Campus Middle School students visited the AMC Deptford 8 Movie Theatre and the Deptford Mall on Friday December 11, 2009. The students enjoyed a special viewing of Jim Carrey’s “The Christmas Carol.” Prior to attending the movie, the students read the story and were very excited to see their text come to life. Following the movie the students went to the Deptford Mall. At the mall the students practiced their budgeting skills by purchasing their own lunch at the food court. After eating a tasteful lunch, the students spent the remainder of the afternoon shopping for their school Pollyanna or gifts for family members. Once again they put their budgeting skills to the test! This activity was quite rewarding and a learning experience for the students. It helped improve their language arts skills as well as the mathematical skills. Not to mention the priceless social skill lessons the students absorbed while on their travels. Overall, this trip provided everyone with both learning and laughs, that will last a lifetime! Another activity in December was the Holiday Breakfast for family and friends. The breakfast is an annual social event, ran by Eileen Mosby. It includes breakfast, a holiday craft, holiday book readings from students, and music to launch off the winter break. This event was also sponsored by GCSSSDEA. Posted on January 7, 2010 |
