News from Gloucester County Alternative School

Spring is finally here and we are glad the warmer weather has arrived! We anticipating a busy month with many activities to engage and encourage the Alternative students.

We start out our month with spring break. On Wednesday, March 31st, students are dismissed at 12:15 p.m. There is no school on Thursday, April 1, 2010; Friday, April 2, 2010; and Monday, April 5, 2010.

We will be taking selected Gold and Platinum card students out to lunch on Thursday, April 8, 2010, to Santini’s Pizza in Deptford. Please be on the lookout for permission forms coming home with your student. Friday, April 16, 2010, marks the end of the 3rd marking period and report cards will be distributed and mailed home on Thursday, April 22, 2010. We end our month with a Gold Card pizza lunch on Friday, April 23, 2010.

Please remember we are planning on taking students to Clementon Park for a year end celebration on Thursday, June 10, 2010, The cost of the tickets will be $21.95 which includes the admission price and a meal ticket to be used in the park. All students will have the ability to go to Clementon Park for free, just by earning and keeping their Gold or Platinum Card for a sufficient number of weeks. Students that possess a Gold Card will earn $1.00 towards their trip for every Wednesday they possess their Gold Card. Students that possess a Platinum Card will earn $3.00 for every Wednesday they possess their Platinum Card.
