EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR OFF TO A GREAT START

On July 12, eligible students were welcomed to the Extended School-Year Program at the Bankbridge Schools. After a few weeks off, students immediately returned to the activities that make our schools wonderful and vital places for student learning. This summer, many new students have joined us for the program.

What is the Extended School Year Program?

Gloucester County Special Services School District has been conducting the Extended School Program at the Bankbridge Schools for many years. The program is designed to prevent the regression or degradation of acquired skills after an extended absence (like summer break). This is frequently an issue for many special needs children. Students are deemed eligible for the program if Extended School Year is required by their IEPs.

Who may participate in the program?

While most of the students in our Extended School Year Program attend the Bankbridge Schools during the regular school year, we DO accept students for the program that attend other schools or programs during the regular school year. Local school districts apply for the students to participate in the program. All related services as required by the IEP are offered.

When does the Extended School Year Program run?

The program runs Monday through Thursday, July 14 - August 14 from 8:30 - 1:30.
