Preschool Disabled Programs
The Gloucester County Special Services School District has several options for preschool students with special needs:

The integrated PSD program at Gloucester County College is an option for students who are looking for a language-rich environment and can benefit from modeling typically developing peers. The typically developing students are integrated into the program from the Early Childhood Education Center's daycare program at Gloucester County College. What separates this program from many districts’ programs is that the educational focus is on the special needs students first.

Bankbridge Elementary School offers a choice for students that would achieve the most benefit from being in a self-contained setting with a stronger behavioral component than the integrated program at GCC. Students with an established mode of communication are better candidates for this program.

We also have self-contained preschool classrooms at our Bankbridge Development Center, which are geared toward meeting the needs of autistic students with a focus on life skills/independent living. There is an emphasis on helping students to develop a means of communication. Certainly students who are not autistic that can benefit from this type of instruction are viable candidates, as well.

All of our PSD programs are full-day programs staffed by qualified GCSSSD personnel. Of course, instruction in each of the programs is driven by IEP and a full array of clinical services (counseling, speech, occupational, and physical therapies, etc.) are available.

Oh, and we have successfully potty trained lots of students!
